Physiotherapist’s Malpractice Liability
- Meets or exceeds all Provincial College requirements
- $5,000,000 per loss and policy period
- $100,00 for Criminal Defence Costs (successfully defended)
- $50,000 for Disciplinary Review Legal Expenses
- $10,000 for Psychotherapy to Sexually Abused Patients
- No Deductible
- Coverage for additional practices such as Message Therapy, Yoga, Nutritional and Fitness counseling available for $50.
Extended Reporting Period Coverage
If you are taking any kind of leave or are retiring you will require protection from any complaints or claims made against you while you were practising. This is the same coverage as Physiotherapists Malpractice but at a reduced premium:
- 1st year – 75% of $300 annual + $25 policy administration fee
- 2nd year – 50% of $300 annual + $25 policy administration fee
- 3rd and any year thereafter – 25% each year + $25 policy administration fee
Commercial General Liability
This provides coverage for non-malpractice liability claims. If you are an independent contractor this coverage is likely not provided by your employer.
- $1,000,000 limit - $125 flat
- $2,000,000 limit - $175 flat (Recommended)
- $5,000,000 limit - $300 flat
General Liability
It is important that you protect yourself in the event that someone may become injured due to your negligence. Most homeowners policies will not cover you if someone slips and falls on your property if they were injured while you were conducting business from your home.
If you are self-employed and as part of your business you go into your client's homes, it is imperative that you purchase a Commercial General Liability policy. This policy will protect you against most common types of claims that could come against you as a result of your negligence. Incidents such as slip and fall and bodily injury are excluded from your PhysioSure policy and thus, must be purchased separately.
A $1,000,000 CGL policy can be purchased for $125 per year. This amount is not pro-rated.
A $2,000,000 CGL policy can be purchased for $175 per year. We strongly recommend this level of coverage as it a common contractual obligation in most service agreements. A $5,000,000 CGL policy is also available at $300 per year.
